Fantastic Finds

HI, you guessed it, I’ve been hoarding music. So I’ll make this quick.

I’ve got 40 tracks here since I made you wait so long for them. Still friends? We’re starting in easy house music territory and I’ve got “Daydreaming” by Young Franco early in the batch. I became a fan of his late last summer, and it was a blast opening for him in the basement of Vinyl Denver. A track you’ll have to pry from my cold dead USB is “Stay Inside” by JT Donaldson, a deep house cut that’s warm and makes the whole dancefloor settle in. I started DJing regularly at The Flat and that one really transforms the room week after week. I already know the Icarus remix of “Heavy” by Bow Anderson will end up in my top tracks of my Wrapped this year, and it’s only April. Its just so good, so emotive, I hope I get a chance to try it in a latenight set, but its also my new dream sunrise set peak track. I’ll keep you updated on how that goes. We cruise through some deep house cuts and you’ll find my new collab “Engulfed” thats out on Room Inc [UK].

We peak somewhere around “Keep Forgettin'” and “Home,” in funky pumpin house, then start to roll down. “Own Path” by Jevon Ives drops heavy into garage with deep rolling subs and swingin hats, “Papa’s Got Garage” is a fun-loving 2step edit, then we hit dustier, more old school sounding breaks. “Bonkers,” “ONE EYE SHUT,” and “Like We” are some left-field leaning tunes with big energy. Flava D and Jafu go deep and dubby. Then we send it home with DnB. Floaty tracks first, like “Stay With Me,” and “We Were Kings,” and the closer, “Rebel,” is the nastiest of them all. “Flowers” was one of my favorite finds because I had been jamming it for a few weeks before Roni Size came to Houston and played it in his set, and I thought, ah yes, great minds.

That’s it! Go listen! I promise I’ll be back sooner next time. Stay Safe &Enjoy
