If you have not heard of Snowbombing then you are missing out on one of the most unique festival experiences there is. Mayrhofen, Austria is the destination for this festival, nestled amid snow covered mountains and alpine forests. But Snowbombing is more than a festival. It is an exhilarating vacation, offering spa services at the Strass Wellness Center, saunas through the numerous hotels and guest houses in Mayrhofen, scenic views, and sight seeing in a breathtaking environment. Confirmed music acts include Fatboy Slim, Bastille, Andy C, Groove Armada, Oliver Heldens, Netsky, Sven Väth, Shy FX, Nic Fanciulli, Noisia, and the Martinez Brothers to just name a few.

Festival goers will want to check out Snowbombing’s travel section on the website for travel by air tips. Airport transfers are available to the festival site from airports at Munich, Salzburg, and Innsbruck. Transfers will be available every two to four hours. Coach travel in the UK is also available for those who seek an alternative to airplanes. All coaches come equipped with toilets, DVD players, and reclining seats. If none of those options suit you and you hanker for more entertainment before your arrival, look no further than the SB 2016 Road Trip.

The SB 2016 Road Trip, a themed two-day race rally, builds camaraderie and sets you on an adventure through Europe before you even arrive to Snowbombing. This year’s theme is Mad Mission to the Mountains, inspired by the post-apocalyptic Mad Max films. The Road Trip is priced at £299 (about US $425) and can be added onto your Snowbombing package through your account on the Managing Booking section of the Snowbombing website.

During your time at Snowbombing, you may want to take advantage of the year-round skiing that can be found at the Hinterux Glacier. If you are more of an observer, take in the breath-taking action of Pro Prodiers in the Ride & Seek competition. If you want to practice to one day complete, lessons are available for all skill levels.

If skiing or snowboarding isn’t your thing, consider what Pongathon, a new activity entrant to Snowbombing, will provide. Starting at 7 p.m. each night, Pongathon will host parties featuring ping pong tables for casual play, tournaments, ping pong speed dating, and the freshest sounds while you enjoy the ping pong related festivities. It goes without saying that there is much to do at Snowbombing, but the main reason for a festival is the music and Snowbombing offers a world class lineup.
An entire week of partying awaits in several different locales. There are parties everywhere, from the forest of Waldfesetplatz to a barn retrofitted with a Funktion 1 sound system, from a mountainside to an igloo known as the Arctic Disco. The Arctic Disco is 6,000 feet above sea level, sitting atop the Ahorn mountain. Opening up this special venue on Monday, April 4 will be Nic Fanciulli and Ben Pearce, co-owner of Purl & Soul Records. April 5 welcomes Kerri Chandler as he takes on the wheels of steel alongside Heidi. April 6, Hannah Wants will make her debut at this iconic space, only to be followed up by none another than the famous Fatboy Slim. Saturday will host Shy FX for a long night of drum and bass on April 7.
When utilizing the booking system, you can structure your vacation how you see fit, choosing to arrive as early as Saturday, April 2. You can also book a variety of different accommodations. When doing so, this will come with a Snowbombing wristband, which will only be available to those who book accommodations through the Snowbombing website. The Snowbombing wristband will allow you to gain entry into all of the festivals venues, except for the Arctic Disco and the Backcountry Party. Tickets to the Arctic Disco and the Backcountry Party will be sold separately.

VIP is also available and will grant fast track access to the Racket club, the Street Party, and the Foreset Party. VIP wristbands will also get you a free welcome drink, 10% off all Snowbombing merchandise, and enter you into a meet and greet competition.
