Hey DoD gang, another month has already come and gone, and the tunes just keep stacking up! Recently I’ve played some of my favorite DJ sets to date, and rinsed out some real gems that I’m ready to hand over if you’re the ID-hungry type. So I’ll just start with the dancefloor crushers: “Nasty” by Ryan Forever is a Dirtybird classic, a perfect crossover wonky-house and breaks track that gets literal shouts of “ohmygod” from the crowd as they slip into melt mode. If you’re looking for something more groovy, Soul Clap’s “Back 2 Love,” and Toman’s remix of “Riddle” by Dimmish really get things pumping, and I’ve been playing out a DJ Assault remix of Claude VonStroke’s “The Whistler,” but I included the original here to give it a nod. Shoutout to the ladies on this month’s list: Nala launched her imprint Mi Domina with an E.R.N.E.S.T.O collab EP, and my girl Baby Weight made her debut on Farris Wheel Recordings. I’ve included their tracks, “Get Familiar,” and “We Werq It,” respectively, alongside throwback bangers, “Feels So Real” by Patrice Rushen, and Lisa Shaw’s “Grown Apart.” Some breaks, of course, courtesy of Nikki Nair, Justin Jay, and SBTRKT, easy groovers from The Floozies, Life on Planets, Ilya Schulz, and more.
as always, Stay Safe, and Enjoy <3
