(SIDEPIECE at Clé in Houston, Texas on Sunday, May 1, 2022)
Recently returning from their stellar performance at the Do LaB experience during Coachella, Sidepiece made their debut appearance for a little Sunday fun outside by the pool at Clé Group’s flagship venue Clé. Despite a very warm and humid day with some cloud coverage, everyone brought their A-game with their Sunday best and pool attire.
Los Angeles-based producer Party Favor (Dylan Ragland) and Miami-based producer Nitti Gritti (Ricky Mears) are already known for their own unique styles in the electronic dance world, but their relatively new side project (SIDEPIECE) has been taking the dancefloor by storm with their interpretation of tech house since 2019. Their first release ‘On My Mind’ with Diplo really kicked off their journey together with the track spending 19 weeks as No. 1 on Beatport. The Grammy-nominated duo has reinvented themselves within the house music scene and now they are playing all of their latest releases live around the US after an extended separation from live shows during the pandemic.
One of their most recent releases ‘Don’t Keep Me Waiting’ swept the Sunday crowd from left to right with its punchy bass line and memorizing vocals. Of course no Sidepiece set is complete without fan favorites like ‘Sextacy’, ‘Temptation’, ‘Together’, ‘Fallin For You’, and some juicy remixes with artists like John Summit.
‘Don’t Keep Me Waiting’ is a record that we have been teasing for quite some time at our shows. From the moment we first heard the vocal, we knew there was something special about this record. The production came together super naturally, which is always a good sign. We wanted to make something that felt classic and new at the same time. As the sun slowly set behind the Sunday crowd at Clé, SIDEPIECE’s infectious house beats painted a dreamy soundscape on the venue’s VOID Acoustics sound system while electrifying the dancefloor.
