On Friday, Fatboy Slim quietly (as quiet as FBS can do, anyways) released Return to the Valley of Right Now, previously released on vinyl for record store day 2019 (April 13).  Now out on Beatport, Youtube, Spotify, and pretty much every other media out there, we took a peek at this strange little track.

This is not your four to the floor stunna, your rager, or summer soundtrack.  This is that strange song that wafts through a 4am afterparty chill out room, something familiar haunting your dreams, and that white label that you prize for your own private listening.  It takes 1998’s hit “Right Here, Right Now” and shoves it into some psychedelic haze, with a light touch of magic.  Additional haunting vocals update the narrative, paired with familiar samples, and well processed raw drums.

Do we love it or hate it?  It’s kinda TBD.  The more we listen, the more we get it, and it feels like a special place to join in when we give a listen.  However, it doesn’t quite seem like our place, and we’re honestly ok with just being a guest.
