Are you excited for festival season? We are, too. Particularly since more attention is being given to lineup equality.
Recently, THUMP, Broadly (subsidiaries of Vice Media) and Smirnoff announced a new collaborative multimedia project, Top 50 Women Making Noise, intended to increase the representation of women in the music industry with a heavy emphasis on electronic dance music. What’s the goal? Double the women headliners in electronic music. Can I get a hell yeah?
We want to join in too, and show our support. In honor of increasing the presence of women in electronic music, we’ve created an all-women #mixtape of artists coming to Texas this season. We’re stoked to have a bunch of names to pull from Euphoria Fest, which is fast approaching this April 6-9, and has certainly taken a step in the right direction in lineup diversity. Special shout-out to Free Press Summer Fest and newcomer Middlelands for booking so many women artists, as well, and to Foam n’ Glow for booking Candyland as top headliner.
