Brillz. Party favor. Ghastly. Party Thieves. Together, they put on the Twonk Di Nation Tour. All of these artists have a unique sound and they came together this past Saturday in Dallas at Lizard Lounge. If you’ve ever been to a show put on by Brillz, the Twonkmaster himself, then you probably already know that the artists slayed the stage. Party Thieves with his darker trap, Ghastly with his heavy hitting bass house and gritty dubstep style, and Party Favor playing out anything and everything people can twerk to. No one came close to Brillz, however, as his insane performance combing all genres from house, to dubstep, to his well known trap it was one of the most diverse sets I’ve seen in a while. There were a few issues with the Lizard Lounge venue. Despite the entire venue, itself, being quite spacious with multiple rooms, an upstairs VIP balcony, and a decent sized smoking patio, there was absolutely no room to dance or even move to the right or left for almost the entire show, because all the main djs play in the much-too-small main room. I felt claustrophobic from the moment I stepped into the main room and that took away from the visual and auditory experience which otherwise would’ve been exceptional. While the venue took away from the experience quite a bit, every dj really hammered out a unique style and Brillz absolutely shut it down in the headlining spot, and other than the cramped venue, it was an incredible time.
