Mix of the Week: Andrew Bayer – Live At Ultra Music Festival 2015

0

After another emotional rollercoaster of a week, we wanted to pick a special mix for this MOTW.  We reached out to find something that expressed our sadness and love, hopefulness and desolation.  We are stewing in the glory of our fresh World Series Champion Astros, who have brought SO MANY of our fellow Houstonians the joy they needed. Our hearts are still aching for our friends in Puerto Rico, The US Virgin Islands, may other parts of the Caribbean, Florida, and our still fresh wounds home in Houston. We grieve for those in Las Vegas, and even more of those that get buried in our whirlwind month.  Good riddance to September and October.  We’re over this fall.

We ended up deciding on this beautiful mix from Andrew Bayer, which highlighted all the swirl of emotions we were feeling, but still wrapped us in a glorious sonic hug.  We hope that each of you catch that same emotion of love and healing that we got from this stellar set of hits, and can celebrate with thousands all over today.

Enjoy.

Pharmacy Records Launches Christopher Lawrence – Banshee Remix Contest

0

In 2016, Christopher Lawrence released Banshee. The single remains one of the biggest in Pharmacy Music history – hitting #1 on Beatport’s Trance chart.

Described by Trancehub as “Brilliant” and by Tilllate as a “Pounder”, Banshee was hammered in the live sets and radio shows of DJs such as Paul van Dyk, Aly & Fila, Indecent Noise, Jordan Suckley, Bryan Kearney, M.I.K.E, Mark Sherry, Alex MORPH, Sneijder, Will Atkinson and Signum to name a few.

Now Pharmacy Music is giving upcoming producers an opportunity to show off their skills and add their individual touch to Banshee by submitting their own remix of this classic track. The remix genre is open – but keep in mind Pharmacy is an underground label. We’re big fans of tech trance, psy trance, techno, progressive grooves, and down tempo so this is a chance for producers to get in touch with their dark side. No big room or uplifting trance please.

The winner’s remix will be hand picked by Christopher Lawrence and the Pharmacy team for worldwide release on Pharmacy Music. The winner will also receive their very own cover art and will win a spot on Pharmacy Music’s promo list for the next year. Plus we’ll throw in some label merchandise and some rare out-of-print Christopher Lawrence compilations.

If you’re an upcoming producer and think you’ve got the goods, we’d love to hear what you can do.

New Music Monday: LCD Soundsystem – Oh Baby

0

Thus week’s New Music Monday brings you an almost fresh track from LCD Soundsystem from their new album, American Dream, in preparation for their show tonight at The Bomb Factory in Dallas. This John Hughes-esque dancey ballad is a swirly, synthy heaven, that seems not of any era. We’re not normally ballad loving folks, but this one really hits home. Enjoy!
