BOO! You know what’s really scary? Not having new tunes for the weekend. Well don’t worry, my favorites from the past month have landed just in time for Sunday Funday. I was really feeling breakbeats in October, but there are a few fun housey finds here, and some jungle and bass.
“We Can Make It” from Coldnight brings garage energy with emotive chords and lyrics. Facu Baez and Lauren Lane check in with classic hip hop samples and infectious house basslines in “50 INCH WOOFAS” and “Ryde or Die Anthem,” respectively. Speedy house with a trancey feel is served up with “Rippin’ Bongz,” and “Into Your Groove,” and Chuck Shadow’s “Be Careful” has an insane bass drop flip from what initially appears to be an innocent house beat. Electro is on the menu with Sam Binga and Fracture’s “Trippin’,” and big bangers “SLAM CITY” and “Materialist.” And I closed with a jungle flip on iconic Sister Nancy.
All this, and MORE! Stay Safe, and Enjoy <3
