Did you miss me?! Sorry to leave you all hanging for a bit, but its been quite a year. But never fear, I’m back with lots of new tunes to share! New wins for me: I just signed a new track to Greg May’s imprint, Rooms Incorporated, across the pond in the UK; a deep and wonky breakbeat collab with Rodney Dinkles called “WOAH” that should hit platforms in mid-November. Speaking of Rodney Dinkles, he released his first full length album project this year on his own label, Qwerk, and I’ve included one of his tunes, “Movements,” here on the playlist. And speaking of full length albums, my bestie Justin Jay just dropped a fresh album on Fantastic Voyage, but not before opening a couple of insane shows for Fred Again. Talk about a release week! I’m plugging “Waiting…” by Justin this month as well.
There’s a nice mixed bag of sounds here for September, some classic house vibes from Aquarius TX and Laurence Guy, and some left field tunes including a Flux Pavillion remix of Hudson Mohawke and Nikki Nair’s anthem “Set The Roof,” and a bassy crossover DJ tool, “GxDSWORK” by Klinical, thats just begging to be mixed into a multigenre set. Neumonic gives us easy breezy UKG with “Movin’,” and starts up a nice little run of garage mid-playlist with the likes of ZeroFG and Instinct (UK). Breaks are delivered from Yo Speed, and I found this unexpectedly good edit of “Low Rider” coming from Hatori Hanso. Friends Danny Goliger and Adrian More check the speedy tunes box, and I closed with “Never Let Me Go,” some DnB guaranteed to get you in your feels. Its good to be back!
