Feature: E.R.N.E.S.T.O
Hey DoD gang! Summertime is here, and I’ve got some hot tunes for your playlist. My guest this month is a hot one too: help me welcome E.R.N.E.S.T.O to the DoD platform to share his Finds with the crew!
E.R.N.E.S.T.O first popped up on my radar a few years ago when I caught him slapping my debut release, “Heard It Like This,” in his DJ sets. Fast forward to now and it’s a rare occasion when I’m not banging his tunes in my own sets as well. Not only is his taste for breaks, acid and ghetto house infectious on the dancefloor, he’s released impressive collabs with some other favorite artists of mine including Left/Right, Nala, and CODES who I featured earlier this year on the playlist. “Baby” and “Caracas” are two favorites of mine to play out, but he’s got heaps of hot tracks to keep your USBs burning up. These days he’s also running things over at his own label, Broken English Traxx, and any aspiring producers should tune in to his Twitch platform where he provides live demo feedback during his weekly Wednesday Roast sessions.
My picks this month range from easy poolside groovers by Footshooter, Jamiroquai, and Bellaire to some bigger harder hits from Dub Phizix, Covert Garden and Diemantle that I’ve picked up from the London UKG/DNB scene rabbithole I’ve been going down lately. ‘Nesto brings some big bangers to the table from Amadeezy and Partiboi69, DJ Slugo, Nikki Nair and Sam Binga, and a Ron Mercy release from Broken English Traxx. “Deeper” and “God Complex” are two hot ones from him to round out this month’s list, and he’s just dropped a new heater, “Oldschool,” that I’ve tacked on as the closer.
