FEATURE: Cut Snake
Heyo DoD friends and fam! Stoked to bring you another month’s worth of finds, and a fresh feature for February, my mate Cut Snake.
I met Leigh, aka Cut Snake, at the very first Seismic Dance Event in Austin (shoutout!) and we’ve been running wild ever since. His DJ mix series, “Cut Snake & Mates,” debuted in 2017, and the project now features close to 50 episodes from the likes of Sonny Fodera, Weiss, Claptone, Noizu, Rebuke, and even little ol me! These days he’s also running his label, BIG BAM BOO, and has been known to throw renegade-style warehouse parties for the imprint, fueled by a wild booth-on-wheels in his own Winnebago. Cut Snake’s Fantastic Finds are “We Always Want Soul” from Bizza, Demi Riquisimo’s “Paroche,” and a recent staple of my sets, “Dub Shot” from Bowser. I’m featuring one of his newer releases, “You Are The One,” from BIG BAM BOO. And lucky us, he also blessed me with a bonus find from SoundCloud: “Fray” by Romain FX
Next to Leigh’s picks, I found some groovy cuts from DJ Island, M-High, and Eli Escobar, and some breaky ones like “Come Back Round,” “Close Proximity,” and “Arrival” — a collab that Edward White served up with Yemi for Steppers Globe (it’s been in my head for a week now!)
Stay Safe, and Enjoy! <3
