Festival goers hoping to soak up sun rays in Miami for the Ultra Music Festival will have to wait another year for that opportunity, as the COVID-19 coronavirus has led organizers to postpone the festival until next year. Ultra Music Festival will now take place on March 26-28th in 2021. Earlier in the week, there were rumors that the festival would be postponed. On Wednesday, representatives from Ultra and city officials met to discuss postponing the festival. You can find the official announcement made on the festival’s Facebook page below.
This announcement comes with a heaping helping of disappointment to those who have traveled to Florida every spring for the annual electronic dance music festivities. The COVID-19 coronavirus also claimed Tomorrowland Winter. More festivals may also fall to the COVID-19 coronavirus, raising fears of lost revenue and a big hit to the festival season. Stay tuned to The Department of Dance for more developments.
I was listening to electronic dance music without even knowing it when I was listening to Jock Jams in the 90s. Fast forward to my senior year in high school and I had discovered Fatboy Slim. I have been listening to edm ever since and love writing about new sounds, good sounds, and the music that makes us move.
