Unlike in Mean Girls, on Wednesday on Playa, you wear white. And THE party out of all parties that week is the Opulent Temple white party at Playground, featuring Carl Cox, Gorgon City, UMEK, and much more. Fresh off of a beautiful wedding of dear friends, a multitude of white-out dust storms (even the weather was in costume), our crew trekked across the playa to play in a sea of burners, surrounded by a ring or blinky, neon, flame-throwing, 2-story art carts. It was something to behold, and words simply could not explain.
Cox was in rare form, with a top hat and giant grin, as he worked a herd of dusty dancers into a frenzy. Although oddly enough, this was not our favorite set from the week (we’ll hopefully get those to you next week), it was still an incredible one – one we’re happy to relive and share with you. Oh yes, oh yes; buckle up!
