After taking a 4-year hiatus from producing music, Skrillex has come back with a two track EP that has everyone at a lost of words. On July 18th, 2019, OWSLA tweeted a photo which leaked the two song titles as well as the release date. After connecting the dots, fans began to realize that this was a discreet announcement for the new EP. At midnight, the very next day, Skrillex’s EP “Show Track” was released.
Hitting it off with the opening track “Fuji Opener (feat. Alvin Risk)”, we were hit with a mix of hardstyle and the old Skrillex dubstep that we have been missing and fans cannot get enough of it. Debuting this at Porter Robinson’s “Second Sky” fans could only assume that Skrillex was coming back with a “BANGARANG”.
His second and final track of the EP, “Mumbai Power (feat. Beam)”, goes to show that we have so much more to look forward because of his ability to create so many different styles of music. “Mumbai Power” sparks so many positive emotions to listeners and gives us all the understanding that Skrillex still has such a burning passion for what he produces.
With that being said, I know his fans, and myself, cannot wait to see what else he has in store for us. Skrillex is coming back better than ever.
