News came out of Spain this morning that Amnesia owner Martin Ferrer was arrested along with three other individuals as part of an investigation into money laundering activities and tax evasion. Around 7 in the morning after the club closed agents from the Central Operating Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard descended on the club. The Judicial Police, officials from the Tax Agency, and the Team of Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement were also involved in the operation. The agents arrived to the island via helicopter and brought in drug dogs to aid in the proceedings. Check out the video below of agents going into the club which appeared on Diario de Ibiza.
According to Diario de Ibiza, this was the culmination of a complaint launched last year by the prosecution. There is much secrecy surrounding the operation. As we learn more, the Department of Dance will keep you posted.
