Happy almost weekend, friends. This week’s #tbt mix is Deadmau5’s 2008 Essential Mix. I enjoy this mix because it serves as a striking reminder of how unique and different Deadmau5’s sound and production was when he first hit the scene. This is a classic Mau5 mix, filled with his signature early tracks and that undeniable Deadmau5 sound. While most people’s introduction to Deadmau5 is his first breakthrough hit, “Faxing Berlin,” I fell in love with “Hi Friend,” after hearing about Deadmau5 via an episode of A State of Trance, where Armin introduces his name as “Dead Mau Five.” Needless to say, everyone knows how to pronounce his stage name now, lol. I’ve had the opportunity to see him live a couple of times, and with his unique stage setup, alongside the lighting and sound production, and his Mau5heads, his shows make you feel like you’re dancing in a video game. Check him out when he headlines this summer’s Free Press Summer Fest, and jam this amazing mix now. Happy Thursday, Folks!!
