Old schoolers and new comers alike, get ready! BAD BOY BILL and Richard Vission are embarking on a vinyl-only tour this summer.

Dates are yet to be announced, but you know we will keep our ear to the vinyl on this one. This Back To Vinyl tour is relevant to my interests because I came up in the scene when people were only spinning the black crack. The parties were fun and the music was great to dance to, but often times I would find myself watching the DJ booth as hands expertly commanded the mix and twisted knobs on the mixer.

Bad Boy Bill’s announcement brought to mind one of the more memorable parties I attended back in 2002. The party, thrown by SDC (Scooby Doo Crew), was called 4/20 and just so happened to be on April 20th. It took place at what was known as Chocolate Town, also known as Platinum City. It was a dark, fun, and humid night with Richard Humpty Vission on the wheels of steel. There was a boxing ring in the back, and I recall having to step over people in the ring and lying on the sides of the walls. Ah, those were the days when one could have fun and be fancy-free. Much time has passed since then, but I would like to relive those days by attending the Back To Vinyl tour. Here’s to hoping they stop in a Texas city.

I was listening to electronic dance music without even knowing it when I was listening to Jock Jams in the 90s. Fast forward to my senior year in high school and I had discovered Fatboy Slim. I have been listening to edm ever since and love writing about new sounds, good sounds, and the music that makes us move.
