There’s a new camping festival coming to Colorado and it’s set to be thrown by none other than Madison House Presents, the organizers behind Electric Forest. The festival will take place Aug. 4 to 7 in Buena Vista, Colorado.
The special events permit Madison House Pesents sought proposed a 20,000-person music festival. The Chaffee County Board of Commissions approved a closing time of 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Thursday and Sunday nights, the festival was approved to be wrapped up no later than midnight. The location of this event will be on a 274-acre ranch. No acts have officially been named, but Chaffee County Administrator Robert Christiansen mentioned bluegrass and classic blues as types of music one might hear, and added that the aim was to attract people of all ages and interests.
Jed Selby, a developer, bought the forclosed property two years ago with the intent of one day holding a music festival on it. In an interview with the Denver Post, Selby says of the property:
“This is all terraced seating, overlooking the stage. There’s camping over there. Parks and trails. This could be a giant bar. There could be like 25,000, 30,000 people down there. Think how amazing this could be.”
The Department of Dance will be sure to keep you informed with further developments.
I was listening to electronic dance music without even knowing it when I was listening to Jock Jams in the 90s. Fast forward to my senior year in high school and I had discovered Fatboy Slim. I have been listening to edm ever since and love writing about new sounds, good sounds, and the music that makes us move.
