We at The Department of Dance were stunned and delighted with Friday morning’s supreme court ruling, which turned over state same sex marriage bans on a federal level. Members of the dance music community have always been accepting of same sex couples, from the days of Studio 54, through the rave scene, and today. We are elated that maybe this big step will bring us closer to the acceptance and sense of unity we all share when we are on the dance floor. Congrats. Love wins!
