Leaving on a jet plane…

As I wrote this, I’m sitting drunkenly on top of my suitcase in a noisy, crowded airport terminal in Istanbul. We’ve been in either airports or airplanes for technically about 25 hours (it’s 6 pm Monday), but we’ve been in so many times zones, I’m not really sure what is what.

But wait! Weren’t we supposed to go to Amsterdam? Of course, but it was a big discount per ticket to get here via an Istanbul layover. Not to mention, I’m now pretty much a fan of Turkish airlines now, with its attention to details (chapstick and toothbrush/paste in my economy class welcome pack saved my life). Our plane leaves in a little over an hour, and by the time we get to Amsterdam, we will have been mostly awake since 4am on Saturday.

International travel is always such a blur, and I know this won’t prepare us for the amazing whirlwind when we get there. Hundreds of parties, thousands of DJs, hundreds of venues, and scores of lectures make the Amsterdam Dance Event one of the biggest/longest industry events in the world. Somehow, we managed to get this on our calendar, and we plan to report absolutely as much as possible to ya’ll. We can’t wait to go on this adventure with you. RemainĀ calm and stay tuned…
