In Houston, Texas some parties stay and some parties go… SOLID has proven that it is definitely here to stay! Presented by The Crew every third Thursday of the month at Jet Lounge, SOLID is always what the title indicates. On May 15th Music scene. Every tune was on a whole other level all night long from the guest artists Alec ‘Kruxx’ Varnell, Baud Optics, Upgreyed representing Gritsy and MC TR3. The SOLID residents DJ Jefre, Notic &DJFug-Ue were also on hand to throw down some beats.
Out of so many amazing sounds flying through the air at Jet Lounge this night the most mentionable for me had to be the set from Baud Optics. Walking in to the building MC TR3 was spitting mad fire on the mic while DJ Jefre is dropping a sick Drum & Bass set, Baud Optics brought out his saxophone to apply some sexy soul & melody to the vibe! One hour later, Baud jumps on the decks and begins to effortlessly transition some Riddims into some wicked Drum & Bass then back into some Dubstep that instantly makes you drop to the floor! I nearly lost my mind when he dropped “Taking Me Higher – L Plus”, a Drum & Bass track I don’t hear played out nearly enough!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to catch most of Upgreyed’s set, but from what I heard while I was there… it was about to be quite the set! Having to leave any party while “Cutty Ranks – Limb by limb (DJ SS remix)” is playing is a sad moment.
All in all… it was a fantastic night! Make sure not to miss out on the next SOLID presented by The Crew every third Thursday of the month at Jet Lounge (1515 Pease St, Houston, TX 77002).
