Ah man, it really was necessary for a new Anjunabeat’s volume to come out… I mean it is JUNE after all. This was an escape I needed… or perhaps we ALL do.
To start it off, since I always pay attention to graphics, I do love the design of the cover. It gives it almost a mysterious gaze with the way the Anjuna logos shine on the top of the buildings, but it also shows Anjunabeats is not stopping what they do best, and will stay on top.
It starts out (CD 1) with this progressive track titled, “You Would” by Thomas Schwartz & Fausto Fanizza…. and boy does it start it right. I mean the feels I received from just the initial “play” button already gave me chills because… I was just so happy. I filled with nostalgia, as when volume 10 was released, I had just seen Maor Levi live with him playing his version of “Liquid Love” and I thought my life had just come to a completion.
Life has been good since I was introduced to Anjuna. Glad to see selections by 16 bit Lolitas. They killed it on the “OceanLab Sirens of the Sea Remixed” album, so I was already excited to see that they got to include more of their jams.- also groovy jams.
Speaking of taking it back, Matt Lange tosses in his version of “Good for Me”… my god…the beats in the song literally made me smile. I mean I am already partial to this song anyway, but damn, this really made me just want to be thankful for everything and look at things with optimism.. Thanks Matt.
Moving along into the album, as it staircases it’s way up to Trance Town, “The Dark” by Boom Jinx & Meredith Call really shouted out to me. Her voice is magical and had perfect vocals for this track. (This will be one of those songs I sing loud in my Civic and no one will hear me, but I may get some weird stares at red lights)
Those were just a few from CD #1, that I believe fans should definitely listen to. Now, CD 2 gets even better, I mean… there is a remix of “Anjunabeach” – Genix Vs. Las Salinas Remix and that was one of my highly anticipated songs because… the original ALREADY had an insane build and I was thinking “Nah, how can one even make this track better”…. WELP..they did. I am so impressed at how many chills I could see on my skin, and how it made me almost just tear up. It’s simply beautiful. No words. Just thinking about it… yeah.. I have to put this on repeat, it’s fantastic. I CAN’T EVEN.
Sigh… If I went on about every song, you would just be thinking “OKAY, KRISTIN, WE GET IT. EVERY SONG IS GREAT” …so I will let you listen to this album. I recommend nice speakers or headphones for ultimate feels.
Please enjoy Anjuna responsibly.
